| I am so thankful for my Real Estate life experience. Today I am re-birthing my Real Estate business after 19 years in the business. My professional journey in Real Estate began as a get rich and fund a feature film tactic. Except it was not a get rich quick market. Really I have discovered that there is no market to get rich quick for the Real Estate professional, consumer or investor. Real Estate is an incredible way to build wealth over time. Whether it is your principle residence or investment property, long term pays off. The feature film I wanted to fund was a goal built on a passion for going to the movies. I liked how it felt to sit in my seat at the Movie Theatre and feel. All I needed was to be touched and the tears streamed from my eyes.In 1990 Real Estate was the toughest time most Realtors had seen up to that point. High prices coupled with high interest rates made Real Estate untouchable for many people. When I started, listing contracts were for 12 months and you could show property to a buyer every weekend for 6 months and still have a 6 month supply to show them. There were Short Sales, and Foreclosures (not to nearly the degree there are today). Two years out of college at the age of 23 with a degree in Radio Television and Film from California State University Northridge I decided to get my Real Estate license. That was 19 years ago.
In August 1993 I got married and in June 1993 I had my Son Drew. In January 1994 The Northridge Earthquake hit right in the middle of the Real Estate recession. Fortunately in 1995 I started working with GE Capital handling Foreclosures and in 1996 I began working with Nestle Relocation. The experience was good and still being somewhat new in the business the corporate accounts really helped.
The 1994 Earthquake marked the beginning of the end of the Real Estate recession. By 1996 the Real Estate market had hit bottom. My daughter Sydney was born 1996. 1997 through 2007 were wonderful growth years in California Real Estate. All the challenges and learning up to that point paid off.
Since 2003 I have been a Single Mom and feel blessed that my ex and I have been able to raise our two kids in two loving and nurturing homes. Beginning in 1999 I started giving back to my profession by serving my Local & State Realtor Trade Associations as well as Civic appointments.
In 2008 I was inducted into the RE/MAX International Hall of Fame. I spent the better part of the past four years Selling Real Estate and venturing in two start up companies. FreshiFilms LLC & eGuardian. Freshi produces after school digital film making programs in public and private schools. Freshi took me to India where we launch a film making program in a private middle school, an experience I will treasure forever. eGuardian is an age verification technology to keep content appropriate and kids safe online while social networking. With eGuaridan I went to Harvard University where I mixed with the largest players in technology and the social networking space like Facebook, MySpace, Google, AT&T, Comcast and others. A very empowering experience.
Now here we are in 2009. I am able to bring my years of experience into the new age of thought and technology. My intension to share some of the details of my journey is to attact or manifest consumers who want to work with an authentic, real, dedicated professional. There are so many to choose from, I hope this helps bring you my way.
